Door County Coffee Amaretto Flavored Ground Coffee is a medium-roast, specialty Arabica blend pre-ground and flavored to deliver a sweet, nutty amaretto profile for drip brewers, French press, or cold brew.
Roasted in small batches in Door County, Wisconsin, this 10 oz bag contains top-tier Class 1 Arabica beans infused with almond-like amaretto flavoring and roasted with an air-roasting process that promotes even development and consistent taste. The grounds are sized to work well across common brewing methods, giving home baristas a convenient way to enjoy a flavored, gourmet cup without added sugar, dairy, or unnecessary carbs.
How does the amaretto flavor come through in the cup?
The amaretto note brings a warm, marzipan-like sweetness and subtle almond character layered over the medium-roast coffee body. Expect gentle toasted nut and caramel hints rather than overpowering syrupy sweetness, allowing the specialty Arabica base to remain present.
- Flavor profile: marzipan, toasted almond, mild caramel finish
- Sweetness level: balanced, not cloying
- Roast level: medium to preserve nuanced aromatics
Is this coffee suitable for my brewing method?
Yes — the grounds are prepared for versatility and perform well in drip machines, French press, and cold brew. Grind size is medium, making it a good match for most home brewers; adjust steep times for stronger cold brews or fuller French press extraction.
- Drip brewer: ideal extraction with standard filters
- French press: use a 4–5 minute steep for fuller body
- Cold brew: coarse adjustment and long steep (12–18 hours) increases flavor clarity
What makes these beans 'specialty' and how are they roasted?
The coffee is sourced from Specialty Class 1 Arabica lots — the top 2% of beans worldwide — selected for sweetness and clean cup characteristics. Door County Coffee uses fluidized air-bed roasters (hot air roasting) to keep beans suspended and moving, ensuring uniform roast profile and consistent batch-to-batch flavor.
- Bean grade: Specialty Class 1 Arabica
- Roasting method: hot air fluidized-bed for even roast
- Small-batch approach: frequent quality checks and consistent profiles
