The Tidiest Step in Your Espresso Prep If you've ever watched ground coffee scatter across your counter while dosing, the Pesado Magnetic Dosing Ring is the fix. It snaps directly onto the rim of your portafilter basket using integrated magnets — locking securely in place without wobbling or slipping — and extends the effective opening of the basket into a clean funnel for grounds. Whether you're grinding directly into the portafilter under your grinder or transferring from a dosing cup, every gram of coffee goes exactly where it's supposed to go, with no residual grounds on the basket lip, the counter, or the portafilter ears.
Magnetic Hold, Stainless Build, Precise Fit The Pesado dosing ring is constructed from stainless steel with a matte black or white gloss finish, matching the build quality and aesthetic of the broader Pesado tool range. The magnetic connection is strong enough to hold the ring firmly in place even with tapping or vigorous WDT distribution — but releases cleanly with a simple lift when you're ready to tamp. Available in 54mm (compatible with baskets from 50–54mm, including Breville/Sage machines) and 58mm (fits all standard 58mm two-wing portafilters). Note: the dosing ring is an external puck prep tool and is not compatible with Breville grinder cradles or forks.
Part of a Seamless Puck Prep System The Pesado Dosing Ring works at its best as part of a complete puck prep workflow. Snap it onto your portafilter, dose your grounds into the basket, run your Pesado WDT Clump Crusher through the ring opening to break up clumps and distribute evenly, then remove and tamp. The raised wall of the ring keeps grounds contained during WDT distribution — one of the most common sources of counter mess in a home espresso setup. Pair it with the Pesado Dosing Cup if you prefer to weigh your dose separately before transferring, or use it directly under your grinder for a one-step workflow. Weighing just 60g, it adds nothing to your routine except a cleaner bench and a more accurate dose.
