King's Family Distillery plunged their already robust Ryeconic into the unforgiving gauntlet of a third oak maturation. It operates as calculated, brilliant madness. The baseline spirit—a heavy-hitting 95% rye mashbill—initially rests in two separate new charred white oak barrels to build its foundational muscle before undergoing its most critical transformation.
The true metamorphosis happens during the whiskey's highly unconventional final resting phase. King's racks the mature spirit into a custom cask subjected to a punishing six-hour char and a volatile flash toast, forcing the liquid deep into the wood's violently scorched cellular structure. Intense spice completely dominates the profile. It forcefully extracts an unparalleled tapestry of deep caramel, weaving a tempest of cinnamon and toasted sugar that completely envelopes the palate.
Brace yourself for a profoundly expressive, unapologetically bold dram. This spirit commands your absolute attention. Despite the formidable cask strength, a rich viscosity thoroughly coats the mouth and tames the underlying ethanol, demanding a slow, deliberate sip to fully appreciate the chaotic harmony. You will instantly forget every predictable rye profile you have ever encountered. This uncompromising bottle stands out thanks to a few pivotal factors:
- A relentless 95% rye mashbill that provides an unshakable spicy backbone.
- An obsessive triple-barreling process that maximizes aggressive wood extraction.
- A custom flash-toasted finishing cask that heavily amplifies the deep caramel notes.
