Perfect for pairing with the gravity distributor, this transparent filter basket is a valuable addition to any barista's toolkit.
A Stand and a Practice Tool in One The Pesado Clear Basket serves two distinct purposes that make it a more useful accessory than it first appears. As a stand, it gives the Pesado Gravity Distributor a clean, stable resting position between shots — keeping the blades off the bench, away from coffee residue and counter contamination, and ready to pick up cleanly for the next dose. As a practice and visualisation tool, the transparent plastic construction lets you see exactly what happens to the coffee bed as you distribute — the blade pattern, the evenness of the levelling, and how the grounds settle — in a way that a standard stainless basket never allows.
Why Visualising Distribution Matters Understanding what your distributor is actually doing to the puck bed is one of the most effective ways to improve your technique. With a standard portafilter, the entire distribution process happens inside an opaque steel basket — you see the result only after the shot, and even then only indirectly through the extraction pattern. The clear basket lets you watch the 6-blade distribution happen in real time, helping you dial in your rotation speed, pressure, and number of turns before committing to a real dose. As one reviewer noted: "it does help to visualise the reality of distribution tools." For new Gravity Distributor owners in particular, a session or two with the clear basket can significantly shorten the learning curve.
33g, Plastic, Engraved Pesado Logo At just 33g, the clear basket is light enough that it adds nothing to your counter and won't get in the way. Constructed from durable plastic with the Pesado 58.5 logo engraved into the base, it's a practical, low-footprint companion to the Gravity Distributor. Designed specifically to fit the Pesado Gravity Distributor and Impact Gravity Distributor — a simple, purposeful accessory that earns its place in any Pesado workflow.
