Since its founding in 1968, Joya de Nicaragua has been at the heart of Estelí’s cigar culture, helping shape the region into the world’s capital of full-bodied cigars. Known for uncompromising strength and bold character, the Antaño line is Joya’s calling card. With the Antaño Connecticut Corona Gorda, the brand takes a daring step, pairing its powerhouse legacy with a refined wrapper that highlights balance over brute force.
At 5.25” x 46, this Corona Gorda brings the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper to the forefront. The smaller ring gauge sharpens the flavors, showcasing creamy almond, fresh bread, and citrus peel alongside notes of oak, cocoa, and pepper. Each draw is smooth yet assertive, with a long, satisfying finish that embodies both tradition and modernity.
This cigar proves that Joya’s blending artistry goes beyond raw power. The medium body and nuanced flavor profile create a cigar that appeals to those seeking depth without overwhelming strength, while still maintaining the Antaño edge that seasoned smokers love.
Perfect for a shorter but flavor-packed session, the Antaño Connecticut Corona Gorda captures the essence of Joya de Nicaragua’s brand—proudly Nicaraguan, steeped in history, and always willing to push the boundaries of what a Connecticut can be.
