Privada Storytelling
Volcanic Depth Meets Holiday Ritual
Celebrating its tenth year in HVC’s Black Friday series, this release spotlights Ometepe’s volcanic filler with its primal mineral character. Enrobed in rich San Andrés Maduro, the Escogidos hits hard then unfolds. It begins with bold spice and nutty warmth, settles into hearty meat and leather notes, and finishes with salted-bread sweetness and espresso. It’s a season-statement smoke: intense, layered, and built for reflection.
Flavor Journey
First Third: Toasted nuts with wasabi/cayenne edge, transitioning into espresso and dark-chocolate cedar richness, rounded by floral tones and rising retrohale black pepper
Middle Third: Emergence of charred steak and leathery richness, leather and espresso interplay deepens the core
Final Third: Salted bread meets espresso and caramel, smoky oak finishes off with sharp black peppercorns on retrohale
Why It Belongs in Privada
This is heritage meeting high craft—a release rooted in place and ceremony. It’s complex yet cohesive, strong yet soulful. The volcanic visos bring character you can’t replicate, and the layered journey—from peppery opener through meat-and-leather heart to that salted sweet close—embodies Privada’s commitment to narrative cigars.
