Expansive, elegant, and rich with ancient inspiration, the Olmec Claro Double Corona delivers a long-format exploration of Foundation Cigars’ celebrated Claro blend. Named for the Olmec civilization, widely considered the “mother culture” of Mesoamerica and one of the earliest societies to cultivate tobacco, this impressive 7 x 54 cigar highlights both the depth of history and the finesse of modern cigar craftsmanship. Its San Andrés Claro wrapper is gently fermented to preserve its natural brightness, producing flavors of cream, cedar, sweet hay, citrus, and warm spice, all balanced by long-aged Nicaraguan fillers.
As with all Foundation creations, founder Nicholas Melillo designed the Olmec line with reverence for the cultural origins of tobacco and the agricultural significance of Mexico and Nicaragua. Melillo’s mastery of San Andrés wrapper leaf—especially in a lighter, Claro-fermented expression—allows the Double Corona to deliver a flavor profile that is smooth and layered, yet never overpowering. Every leaf inside this cigar has undergone years of aging, resulting in a sophisticated smoke that honors tradition while embracing contemporary craftsmanship.
The Double Corona format creates a slow, cool burn that gives the blend room to evolve. Early sweetness transitions into notes of toasted almond, citrus zest, white pepper, and creamy wood, with subtle mineral nuances emerging as the cigar develops. Construction is exceptional, offering a flawless draw, firm ash, and steady burn throughout its extended smoking time.
Ideal for long, relaxing sessions where you can fully appreciate its gradual transitions, the Olmec Claro Double Corona is a tribute to ancient cultural legacy and meticulous, modern cigar artistry. It’s a refined, complex smoke that appeals to enthusiasts who value craftsmanship, history, and a long, rewarding flavor journey.
