The Undercrown El Tigre Dominicano Toro is the vitola that best captures the vision behind Drew Estate's bold new interpretation of the Undercrown legacy. Handcrafted at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua, this soft box-pressed Toro features an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, a Connecticut Corojo H99 Hybrid binder, and a Dominican-forward blend built around prized HVA and Criollo '98 tobaccos. Rather than competing with the original Undercrown, El Tigre Dominicano was created to showcase the elegance, aroma, and complexity that exceptional Dominican tobacco can bring to a modern premium cigar.
The Toro's classic proportions allow the blend to reveal itself with remarkable balance and composure. The Ecuador Sumatra wrapper contributes warmth, natural sweetness, and refined spice, while the Dominican fillers gradually build layers of cedar, roasted espresso, earth, and white pepper without ever overwhelming the palate. Every transition feels deliberate, reflecting the confidence of a blend designed around nuance rather than intensity.
For many enthusiasts, the Toro represents the purest expression of El Tigre Dominicano. Sophisticated, beautifully balanced, and impeccably constructed, it demonstrates that Drew Estate's most compelling innovations often come not from changing who they are, but from discovering new ways to express exceptional tobacco.
