Introduction
This red wine originates from France, produced from vineyards in the Limoux region of the South of France within the Languedoc Roussillon area. Founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot, Maison Albert Bichot is a historic, family owned winery currently managed by sixth generation owner Albéric Bichot, who has led the estate since 1996. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a pioneering spirit, utilizing the diverse 'four climates' of the Limoux terroir—Mediterranean, Autan, Oceanic, and Upper Valley—to create an innovative alliance of fruit finesse and intensity.
Wine Description
The Horizon de Bichot Pinot Noir displays a deep cherry red colour. The nose is fragrant and clean, offering aromas of black fruit such as blackberry and blackcurrant combined with scents of wild cherry, raspberry, and earthy notes of fresh mushroom. On the palate, the wine is dry and medium bodied, delivering flavours of cherry that evolve into peppery and mentholated notes. It is characterized by its silky texture, fresh acidity, and a long finish that features a hint of cedar complementing its complex fruitiness. This 100% Pinot Noir typically features an ABV of 13% to 13.5%. While the domaine's own vineyard wines are certified organic, this specific négoce bottling is focused on sustainable vineyard management and is not certified organic.
