Door County Coffee German Chocolate Cake Flavored Coffee is a 10 oz bag of medium‑roast, 100% Arabica ground coffee flavored to evoke the rich, nutty, and chocolatey notes of German chocolate cake.
Hand‑roasted in Door County, Wisconsin, this flavored coffee is made from Specialty Class 1 Arabica beans and finished with a dessert-inspired flavor profile that layers cocoa, toasted coconut, and sweet caramelized notes. Packaged as a 10 oz bag of ground coffee, it yields roughly seven drip‑coffee pots and is prepared to perform across common brewing methods — from a standard drip machine to French press or cold brew. The roast uses a hot air, fluidized bed process to keep beans moving for even color and consistent flavor from bag to cup.
What does German Chocolate Cake flavor taste like in this coffee?
The flavor aims to capture the dessert’s signature trio of chocolate, coconut, and pecan-like nuttiness without adding sugar. Tasting this brew will highlight cocoa and dark chocolate notes up front, with mid‑palate hints of toasted coconut and a warm, caramel finish. Since the base is 100% Arabica, the cup retains bright, clean acidity and balanced body under the flavored topnotes.
- Primary notes: dark cocoa and chocolate
- Supporting notes: toasted coconut and caramelized sweetness
- Base: medium roast Arabica for clarity and balanced body
How should I brew it for the best German Chocolate Cake experience?
This ground, medium‑roast coffee is prepped to work well in most home brewers. Use a standard drip brewer for a straightforward cup, a French press for fuller body that amplifies the cake-like notes, or cold brew to smooth the flavor and highlight sweetness. Adjust grind/filtation only if converting to espresso or specialty gear.
- Drip brewer: 1–2 tablespoons per 6 oz water for balanced strength
- French press: coarser grind, 4–5 minutes steep for richer texture
- Cold brew: coarse grounds, 12–18 hours for a mellow, sweet concentrate
What makes this coffee different from other flavored coffees?
Beyond the dessert-inspired flavoring, this product begins with Specialty Class 1 Arabica beans — the top 2% of beans — and uses hot air roasting for consistent results. The family‑owned roastery in Door County roasts in small batches using fluidized air bed technology to keep beans evenly exposed to heat. The result is a flavored coffee that preserves bean quality while delivering reliable aroma and taste.
- Specialty Class 1 Arabica base, high-quality origin beans
