Originating from France in the Burgundy region, specifically within the Beaune Premier Cru appellation in the Cote de Beaune, Domaine Seguin Manuel Beaune Premier Cru Les Cent Vignes 2018 represents a silky, aromatic, and cellaring grade expression of classic Pinot Noir. Produced by Domaine Seguin Manuel under winemaker Thibaut Marion, whose family legacy in Burgundian winemaking spans over ten generations, the historic estate is celebrated for its commitment to organic farming and meticulous parcel selection. Sourced from Les Cent Vignes, a premier cru climat situated on gentle, east-facing mid-slopes featuring deep, well-drained clay and limestone soils, the winemaking philosophy centers on organic viticulture, hand harvesting, minimal intervention, native yeast fermentation, and barrel aging in French oak (approximately 25% to 30% new) to preserve pure red fruit character, supple texture, and authentic terroir precision.
Wine Description
The wine presents a clear, deep dark ruby red colour with evolving garnet highlights along the rim. An expressive, highly perfumed bouquet opens with ripe aromas of black cherry, wild raspberry, and dark red plum, interwoven with delicate notes of dried rose petals, forest floor, subtle sweet spices, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is medium bodied, satiny, and harmonious, delivering generous flavours of juicy red berries, dark cherry, and subtle earthiness, all anchored by a bright, mouthwatering core of natural acidity. Framed by fine, velvety Premier Cru tannins and an energetic mid-palate, it concludes with a long, elegant finish marked by lingering dark fruit and subtle spice. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this release offers an optimal drinking window of 2026–2035. Stylistically, it combines the generous warmth of the 2018 vintage with Seguin Manuel's signature refined structure and floral complexity.
