Diplomático "The Chancellor" is a limited-edition, ultra-premium rum that forms part of the prestigious Distillery Collection. This specific release highlights the Pot Still distillation method, using a copper pot still that was originally brought to the La Miel distillery from Scotland in the 1950s. It offers a deep, complex aromatic profile with notes of toasted oak, dried fruits, and dark chocolate, balanced by subtle hints of honey and vanilla. On the palate, the rum is exceptionally smooth and full-bodied, showcasing a rich texture and a long, warming finish with lingering notes of sweet spice and wood. Unlike the brand's more common blends, "The Chancellor" emphasizes the distinct, heavy character of pot still rums, making it a favorite for collectors and connoisseurs.
