Nicholas Melillo’s Foundation Cigar Company is an ideal platform to showcase Melillo’s love and mastery of Connecticut tobacco. And Foundation’s Aksum series showcases the luxurious complexity and richness a Connecticut Broadleaf binder can bring to a cigar blend. The Aksum Maduro Robusto is a 91-rated treasure that delivers an intensely satisfying smoke while honoring the legacy of the ancient Aksum Kingdom and its descendants.
The Aksum Maduro Robusto clocks in at a classic 5” x 50 size displaying a velvety Ecuadorian Sumatra Maduro wrapper in all its glory. Paired with the dark and savory wrapper is the Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a blend of Nicaraguan Esteli and Jalapa filler tobacco. The cigars are handcrafted with exceptional care at the famous Tabacalera AJ Fernandez factory in Nicaragua.
The Aksum Maduro Robusto is a medium-to-full-bodied escape with earth, wood, dark roast coffee, leather, and pepper flavors deeply etched into its character. Dark cocoa, toffee, and spice notes keep the smoke evolving until the 45-to-60-minute smoke’s final puff.
Aksum Maduro Robusto cigars are lavishly flavorful and rich, with a smooth and approachable nature that all can enjoy. Fans of Maduro, Connecticut, and Nicaraguan tobacco will all find something to love about these tasty treats from one of the best tobacco blenders in the business.
