From France’s Beaujolais region, in the celebrated Fleurie appellation, this wine hails from the slopes surrounding the Chapel of the Madonna on Montagne de Fleurie. Albert Bichot, founded in 1831 and still family-owned, is renowned for crafting wines that faithfully reflect each terroir. The winery’s focus on sustainable viticulture and precise winemaking has cemented its reputation for elegance and consistency.
Wine Description
This 100% Gamay wine displays a bright ruby red colour. The nose offers a refined bouquet of iris, violet, and carnation, alongside ripe red berries such as strawberry and raspberry, with a delicate touch of nutmeg and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it is supple yet structured, with juicy red fruit, a fine balance between freshness and roundness, and a long, aromatic finish. Medium-bodied, it shows finesse and charm, capturing the quintessential floral character of Fleurie.
Food Pairing
Ideal with charcuterie, roast chicken, or grilled pork tenderloin. Its floral elegance also pairs beautifully with mushroom risotto or mild, semi-soft cheeses such as Brie. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
