The Original 107 Brand commands reverence. Swapping traditional rye for soft winter wheat profoundly alters this Frankfort distillate's fundamental architecture. This 107-proof icon actively subverts expectations. It forcefully extracts deeply resinous sugars from the heavily charred American white oak staves during those brutal, wildly fluctuating Kentucky summers. You aren't just tasting another wheater. This historic liquid acts as a remarkably vibrant conduit for pure, unadulterated flavor that completely saturates your eager palate.
Maturation permanently redefines this classic mashbill. The elevated alcohol volume serves as a brilliant, flavor-illuminating amplifier rather than a destructive force. While younger wheated bourbons frequently collapse into simple, one-dimensional sweetness, this robust Frankfort expression aggressively wrestles with intense, seasoned wood tannins. It establishes an impeccably balanced, highly idiosyncratic tension. Enthusiasts fiercely hunt these specific bottles precisely because they offer a totally unvarnished, authentic depth. We genuinely adore this uncompromising profile.
Securing this historic pour requires dedication. The amber liquid completely avoids abrasive ethanol burn while fiercely clinging to your glass. You will immediately notice a profound absence of sharp herbal spice. Intoxicating waves of rich butterscotch and baked pastry seamlessly replace that traditional, aggressively peppery rye bite typically found in standard Kentucky mashbills. It drinks dangerously well right now. Missing out on this magnificent wheated giant feels like a devastating mistake for any serious collector.
