Westward Rum Cask American Single Malt Whiskey is an adventurous expression that brings together the best of American whiskey and Caribbean rum traditions. This innovative single malt is finished in premium rum casks, creating a unique flavor profile that combines Westward's signature malty character with the tropical sweetness and spice of aged rum.
Crafted in Portland, Oregon from 100% malted barley and aged in new American oak, this whiskey receives a special finishing period in carefully selected rum barrels. The rum cask influence adds layers of complexity, imparting notes of molasses, tropical fruit, brown sugar, and warm spices that beautifully complement the whiskey's natural vanilla and caramel character.
On the nose, expect aromas of vanilla, caramel, banana, toasted coconut, and hints of brown sugar. The palate is rich and smooth, delivering flavors of honey, toasted malt, tropical fruit, molasses, baking spices, and a touch of oak. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of vanilla, rum-soaked fruit, and gentle spice.
