High West Cask Collection Petite Sirah is a limited-edition expression that showcases the bold influence of Petite Sirah wine casks on straight whiskey. Part of High West's innovative Cask Collection series, this release marries the rich character of American whiskey with the deep, tannic complexity of Petite Sirah wine barrels.
After aging as traditional straight whiskey, this expression is transferred to carefully selected Petite Sirah wine casks for a finishing period. The wine barrels impart intense notes of dark fruit, robust tannins, and wine complexity that beautifully complement the whiskey's natural caramel and spice character, resulting in a bold, sophisticated spirit with remarkable depth and layers.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Dark berries, caramel, and vanilla with hints of red wine, black pepper, and toasted oak
- Palate: Rich and bold with notes of blackberry, plum, toffee, wine tannins, baking spices, and charred oak
- Finish: Long and complex with lingering dark fruit, oak, and robust wine character
Perfect for whiskey enthusiasts who appreciate innovative wine cask finishes and bold, complex flavors. Enjoy neat to savor the Petite Sirah influence, or with a drop of water to unlock additional complexity. A standout limited release from High West's acclaimed Cask Collection.
