Westland's Wine Cask Finish American Single Malt Whiskey, a distinguished member of their Cask Exploration Series. This expression pays homage to the Pacific Northwest's rich winemaking heritage by maturing the whiskey in casks that previously held Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Washington Red Blends. The result is a harmonious fusion of malt and vinous influences, creating a whiskey that balances intricate fruity notes with a rich and robust palate. The nose is jammy with blackberries, raspberries, and baked apples. Grain sweetness and banana bread emerge with time. The sip shows apples, pecans, apricots, buttered popcorn, and vanilla malt. On the finish, there’s tea tannins, cherry cough drops, and chocolate.
Aged for a minimum of five years and bottled at 92 proof, this non-chill filtered whiskey exemplifies Westland's commitment to showcasing the unique terroir and cultural tapestry of the region.
