Wente Vineyards, established in 1883 and still family-owned, is a pioneering winery in California’s Livermore Valley. The Riva Ranch Vineyard in Arroyo Seco, Monterey, is a prized estate location where the cool maritime influence and gravelly soils create ideal conditions for growing expressive Pinot Noir. The Wente family’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking practices underscores their dedication to quality and heritage.
This Pinot Noir presents a luminous ruby red colour. Aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and cranberry meld with notes of baking spice, rose petals, and a subtle hint of earth. The palate is medium-bodied, offering a smooth texture and layers of red fruit, clove, and a touch of vanilla from oak ageing. Silky tannins and vibrant acidity lead to a long, elegant finish. Crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, this wine showcases balance and finesse, with an optimal drinking window from 2024 to 2028.
Food Pairing
Pair this elegant Pinot Noir with mushroom risotto, roasted duck breast, or herb-crusted salmon. The wine’s acidity and refined fruit profile also complement soft cheeses and charcuterie. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
