What flavor profile should I expect from Ethiopian Yirgacheffe?
This Yirgacheffe emphasizes lively acidity with a medium-bodied mouthfeel and layered fruit notes. Expect citrus brightness up front, followed by berry-like sweetness and a subtle earthiness on the finish.
- Lemon or citrus top notes for a crisp opening
- Blueberry and blackberry fruit tones mid-palate
- Thick body with a faint earthy aroma on the finish
How was this coffee sourced and tested for safety?
The beans are 100% Ethiopian Yirgacheffe sourced to preserve origin character, certified USDA Organic and Fair Trade. Before export, the coffee undergoes phytosanitary inspection and additional lab analysis on arrival to detect mycotoxins and mold.
- Single-origin beans from the Yirgacheffe region
- Pre-export phytosanitary inspections for quality
- Post-arrival lab tests for mold and mycotoxins
What roast level and grind should I use for best results?
This product is a medium/light roast and sold pre-ground to suit many at-home brewers. For drip machines and pour-over, use the provided medium grind; for stronger extraction like espresso, consider a finer grind version if available.
- Medium/light roast to highlight origin flavors
- Medium grind works well for drip and pour-over methods
- Adjust grind or choose whole-bean options for espresso or French press
How is freshness preserved after roasting?
Volcanica roasts to order, seals immediately, and uses packaging designed to lock in aroma and slow oxidation. The combination of prompt packaging and quality control helps maintain the coffee's intended flavor profile until opened.
- Fresh roasted prior to packing to retain aroma
- High-temperature roast steps for safety and consistency
- Sealed 16-ounce bag to minimize exposure to air and moisture
