From the Maximilian Foulkes collection of exceptional vintage objects, this distinguished 1930s cigar case by Asprey is crafted from rich brown leather and finished with solid 9ct yellow gold mounts, reflecting the elegance and craftsmanship of traditional British smoking accessories.
Dating to 1937, the case features the classic sleeve within sleeve construction, a design developed to protect cigars during travel while maintaining a refined appearance. The solid gold mounts at either end bear London hallmarks for 1937, the Asprey & Co. Ltd. maker's mark, and stamps confirming their 9ct gold fineness. The leather exterior is further distinguished by the words “Asprey London” embossed in gold lettering.
Designed to accommodate three cigars, the structured case offers protection while remaining a handsome and practical accessory. Nearly a century of use has given the brown leather a beautiful natural patina, lending the piece a character that only comes with age.
A remarkable example of British craftsmanship, this vintage Asprey cigar case combines precious materials, historical significance, and timeless functionality.
