Torabhaig Taigh is the first core expression from Torabhaig Distillery on the Sleat Peninsula of the Isle of Skye and represents the distillery's signature “Smoke with Taste” house style. This NAS Single Malt Scotch Whisky is matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels, refill bourbon casks and selected Madeira casks, bringing additional fruit and softness to Torabhaig's gently peated spirit. Bottled at 46% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring, Taigh combines coastal smoke with baked orchard fruit, maple sweetness, vanilla, toasted nuts, dried fruit and warming spice
Food Pairing: Pair with smoked salmon, grilled chicken, roast pork, aged cheddar, toasted almonds, apple pie, fruitcake or vanilla custard.
Tasting Notes: Gently smoky and coastal, balancing baked fruit and maple sweetness with creamy vanilla, toasted nuts, dried fruit, oak and warming spice.
Nose: Soft seaside embers and mineral smoke mingle with earthy woodland notes, followed by baked apple, maple syrup, raisins, cereal biscuit, cinnamon and clove.
Palate: Smooth and lightly oily, with gentle smoke surrounding vanilla custard, toasted almond and sweet dried fruit.
Finish: Warm and lingering, with toasted oak, vanilla and red fruit followed by cinnamon, clove and persistent but approachable smoke.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a tulip-shaped whisky glass. A few drops of water can soften the smoke and bring forward the baked fruit, vanilla and Madeira-influenced sweetness.
