The full story & FAQBackground · serving notes · questions
Before the redesign
In 2018 Macallan introduced a new bottle design and box for the Sherry Oak 25. Bottles from before that change carry the earlier look, and collectors now seek them out as a distinct era of the range.
The whisky
Macallan described this 25 year old as matured exclusively in sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain. The Whisky Exchange lists it as naturally coloured, with the deep mahogany shade coming from the casks.
Serving
Neat, in a nosing glass, with time to open. If you also own a current 25, tasting the two side by side is the best way to enjoy it.
Frequently asked
How does it differ from the current Sherry Oak 25?
