The Glenrothes
The Glenrothes Distillery sits on a private estate in Rothes, Speyside, part of The Edrington Group. In October 2023 it introduced The 25 in new packaging, the first of the redesigned age-statement range.
The whisky
The distillery calls it delicate decadence born from the wisdom to wait. Its tasting notes describe ripe peach, marzipan and orange peel on the nose, and creamy vanilla, stone fruit, toasted almond and Swiss milk chocolate on the palate.
How to enjoy it
Serve it neat at room temperature in a tulip glass and give it time. Water is rarely needed, but a drop can lift the orange and almond.

What is different about the new 25 presentation?
The 2023 presentation has a reshaped bottle with a straight neck, a clear label with Laura Rampling's handwritten tasting notes and a recyclable copper canister embossed with the contours of the Glenrothes estate.
How does it compare with the 18?
The 18 is fresher and fruit-led, with pear and ginger. The 25 is richer and nuttier, with peach, almond, caramel and milk chocolate.
