The Bean Organic Coffee Co. Decaf Le Bean French Roast is a bold, dark French roast decaffeinated ground coffee crafted from 100% organic Arabica beans and Swiss Water Processed for a clean, full-flavored cup.
Le Bean French Roast decaf delivers the deep, smoky character of a dark roast without caffeine, roasted in small batches by The Bean Coffee Company in the USA. Every 16 oz bag contains organic, single-origin-forward Arabica beans that were decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process to remove caffeine while preserving the coffee's natural oils and flavor complexity. The result is a dark, assertive profile suited to drip machines, pour-over, or French press—ideal for anyone who wants a rich roast late in the day or prefers to avoid caffeine.
What does this decaf French roast taste like?
Expect bold, smoky notes common to French roasts with lingering toasted and bittersweet chocolate tones. The Swiss Water Process keeps the bean’s inherent flavors intact, so you still get depth and roast-derived aromatics despite the absence of caffeine.
- Bold, smoky roast character with toasted notes
- Hints of bittersweet chocolate and light dark-fruit undertones
- Full-bodied mouthfeel suitable for milk-based drinks
How is the coffee decaffeinated and why does that matter?
This coffee uses the Swiss Water Process, a chemical-free method that removes caffeine through repeated water extraction and filtration. That non-solvent approach preserves more of the bean’s original oils and flavor compounds compared with solvent-based processes, leading to a cleaner-tasting decaf.
- Chemical-free Swiss Water Process for gentler decaffeination
- Retains natural oils and aromatic compounds for richer flavor
- Transparent, traceable method preferred by many specialty roasters
How should I brew this ground French roast to get the best cup?
Le Bean is packaged as ground coffee for convenience and performs well across common home brewing methods. Adjust grind size and brew time for your equipment to balance extraction: medium-coarse for French press, medium for drip brewers, and slightly finer for pour-overs if you prefer a stronger cup.
- French press: coarse grind, 4–5 minutes steep for full body
- Drip machine: medium grind, follow machine’s standard ratio
- Pour-over: medium-fine grind, use 1:15–1:17 coffee-to-water ratio
