Sobon Estate ReZerve Petite Sirah 2021 is a full-bodied red from Amador County, California. Produced from Petite Sirah grown in the Sierra Foothills, it undergoes a 24-hour cold soak followed by 12 days of fermentation. The wine then ages for 18 months in American oak barrels, 75% of them new, building structure and integrating its ripe fruit with toasted oak. This 2021 vintage is bottled in a 750ml format at 14.5% ABV (29 proof).
The winery describes a dark bluish-purple color and a spicy nose shaped by licorice, cassis, and toasty oak. Ripe black fruit, currants, and fresh blueberries lead the palate, while mineral accents and a smooth vanilla-like texture carry through a long, warm finish. Its depth, concentrated fruit, and oak-framed profile make it a natural match for richly flavored dishes. Serve it alongside roasted duck, charcuterie, wild game, grilled ribeye, or other savory preparations that can stand up to a powerful but balanced red.
