The Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut is the mildest blend in the Vintage series, the line that first put Rocky's name on the map. The "1999" is the aged Connecticut shade wrapper at its core. It's one of the most popular Connecticut cigars Rocky makes and a perennial best-seller — a smooth, creamy smoke most smokers reach for in the morning.
The wrapper is an aged Connecticut shade leaf over a Nicaraguan binder, with aged Dominican and Nicaraguan ligero filler. Ligero is the strong top-leaf tobacco, used here in small measure for depth without weight. The wrapper and filler are aged about seven years before rolling. Handmade at the El Paraiso factory in Danlí, Honduras.
The profile is creamy and smooth — walnut, toast, cream, and light earth, with a touch of rye spice underneath. The aged Connecticut shade drives the mellow, buttery character. It stays mild to medium from light to finish, never peppery. The easiest cigar in the Vintage series to start a day with.
