One can barely walk through a cigar shop without banging into Rocky Patel cigar samplers bursting at the seams with 90+ rated smokes. We know, these are the kind of problems you want, and we agree! Well, the Rocky Patel 5-Star Sampler just so happens to boast five 90+ rated sticks. Seriously, this sampler has some of the best Rocky has to offer, with ratings as high as a jaw-dropping 95. Here is your chance to rediscover some long-lost favorites or find a new one.
The Rocky Patel 5-Star Sampler contains one of each of the following cigars.
Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary
With a Rocky Patel cigar around, it’s pretty easy to find a reason to celebrate. And when that cigar is the 93-rated 15th Anniversary, the smoke and the reason to celebrate are one and the same.
This stogie achieved something that many cannot—impressed both the top critics and industry leaders. The 15th Anniversary marks 15 successful years for Rocky and the gang. A good deal of Rocky’s stock is manufactured in Honduras, but this smoke is a child of Nicaragua. Wrapped up in an Ecuadoran leaf is a Nicaraguan binder and tobaccos. You’ll get a medium to full-bodied experience of spice, nuts, espresso, and cocoa with these working together.
Just looking at this cigar is mesmerizing. Quality through and through, the 15th Anniversary is a must-have for any humidor.
Rocky Patel Royale
Next up in our Rocky Patel 5-Star Sampler is the 94-rated Royale. This medium to full-bodied first-class smoke is made in Nicaragua utilizing a binder constructed of both Connecticut shade and Connecticut broadleaf tobacco to cradle a Nicaraguan filler. Interestingly, the Connecticut shade is mild and thin, whereas the Connecticut broadleaf is strong and dense. This creates a welcome complexity. Wrap it all up in an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf, and this toro is off to the races with notes of almond, spice, leather, and earth.
Rocky Patel Decade
Rocky didn't make the Decade in a day or a year. It took 10 years to perfect, but that's not how it got its name. The Decade name marks 10 years in the cigar game for Rocky Patel. At the heart of this smoke is a secret blend. The Patel gang is hush-hush as to its contents, though they say it features, "only the finest tobaccos in the world."
This stealthy blend is held tight by a Nicaraguan binder. Over that is a Sumatran wrapper never short on oil or tooth. Get this baby smoking and flavors of leather, pepper, nuts, and wood coat the palate. Those 10 years that went into perfecting the Decade were years well spent, as the stick continues to be one of Patel's best sellers. This medium to full-bodied offering has a long and savory finish that you don't want to miss.
Rocky Patel Vintage 1990
Yes, your flannel and baggy denim and too cool to care attitude are all long gone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t secretly celebrate the era with a 92-rated Vintage 1990. This cigar starts with a Honduran Maduro wrapper that aged for 12 years. During that time, the leaf’s strength decreased while its complexity increased. Under this leaf is a savory blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican Ligero fillers aged for eight years. You’re left with a medium-bodied cigar that favors the mild side of the equation. A well-balanced, smooth experience awaits with flavors of earth, cedar, espresso, and caramel.
Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra
Wrapping up the Rocky Patel 5-Star Sampler is the 91-rated Edge Sumatra. Here we have a complex, full-bodied cigar, but not one that overpowers. A hearty Nicaraguan binder holds high-quality Honduran and Nicaraguan long-fillers. Covering everything up is an oily, exotic Sumatra wrapper from Ecuador. Butter, ground pepper, wood, and spice all wait within.
Please enjoy the Rocky Patel 5-Star Sampler at your leisure.
