Unique from cap to foot, this hexagon box-pressed cigar earned itself a spot as the Top 10 cigar at Cigar Aficionado in 2017 thanks to its unusual construction and bold flavors. Although the blend utilized to make this bolder Black version of the Alma Fuerte line remains entirely undisclosed, we do know that it is 100% Plasencia farmed down in Nicaragua, and that the tobacco that makes it all possible is aged for at least a decade.
Heaping rich, syrupy flavors of molasses on the tongue, and then leaving the palate and nose with a smooth, mineral and leather finish, this medium-to-full blend is unlike anything else we stock at Klaro.
Crafted to mimic the iconic honeycomb, Plasencia claims that the shape of the cigar itself serves a functional purpose, as it helps channel smoke flow and encourages a cooler burn. Regardless of whether or not you buy that bit of marketing jargon, you cannot ignore the fact that this vitola is a looker, and it has the blend cred to back up all those creased good looks. Six sides, six points, and a fatty 60 ring-gauge all in one place amount to one hell of a first impression.
