Wine Description
Lalande-de-Pomerol wines are characterized by a deep red colour and display notes of red fruit, with barrel aging often developing notes of plum, leather, and coconut. They are typically full-bodied, powerful, well-structured, and smooth. Common varietal blends in the appellation are dominated by Merlot, often around 80%, with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec also authorized.
Wines from the 2019 vintage in the appellation are described as soft, silky, and polished, with notes of sweet red fruits and cocoa, showing freshness and an approachable character. The typical Lalande-de-Pomerol wine has a good ageing potential of five to ten years, and many 2019s are ready to drink now or can be cellared for up to 2030-2032.
