Our Rosé of Grenache is light and lean with candy-like aromas and a dry palate packed with citrus and stone fruit flavors. This exciting new release joins Ophidian’s highly awarded collection of captivating wines. Rows of grapevines glide over the rolling hills and mountains of Piekenierskloof, South Africa. This small region is home to some of the oldest vines in the Western Cape, and Grenache thrives in its warm climate. Like the cold-blooded serpent on our label, these grapes spend their days basking in the sun. Come nightfall, temperatures drop, which puts ripening on pause until the sun returns in the morning. Grenache is an inherently fruity grape variety with thin skins and large, plump berries. This makes it ideally suited to rosé. Our 2021 release is a smooth and refreshing example of this style that will captivate your senses and charm your palate. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.
