Ol' Beautiful Abrazo is a standout core offering from Ol' Beautiful Brewing Co., located in the vibrant Inglewood neighborhood of Calgary, Alberta. Since its inception, the brewery has focused on the old ways of doing things, emphasizing storied brewing traditions. Abrazo is their take on the classic Mexican style lager, a style historically influenced by 19th-century Austrian immigrants designed to be a crisp, approachable alternative to mass-produced imports.
Beer Description
This Mexican-style lager is light-bodied and brilliantly clear with a pale straw to golden hue and a bright, white head.
Aroma: Clean and unassuming, featuring subtle notes of sweet grain, light floral hops, and a hint of corn-like sweetness typical of the style.
Palate: It offers a smooth entry with a gentle, honey-like malt sweetness. This quickly gives way to a high level of carbonation and a refreshingly zesty, clean finish that avoids any lingering bitterness.
Profile: It has an ABV of 5.0% and a very low bitterness profile, making it exceptionally crushable and designed for long patio sessions.
Technical Notes: Brewed as a pale lager with a focus on a high-quality malt bill and a clean-fermenting yeast strain to ensure a crisp, dry mouthfeel.
