This refreshing craft cider originates from Canada. The brand, owned by Andrew Peller Limited, is produced regionally, with specific versions crafted in British Columbia, Ontario, and Nova Scotia using fruit sourced 100 per cent locally from each respective province. The name pays homage to a historical era in Halifax when boat traffic was restricted on Sundays so that hard-working locals could pull up their oars and spend time with family and friends.
The Pear Cider is a crisp blend crafted from locally sourced pears and apples. It displays a transparent light yellow colour, often featuring a subtle green hue, with large, streaming bubbles. The nose is characterized by fresh, clean aromas of ripe pear and orchard apples mingled with delicate floral and spring blossom notes. On the palate, the cider is light-bodied, smooth, and lightly sparkling. it delivers a balanced profile that combines the natural sweetness of fresh apples with the juice of ripe pears. The finish is refreshing and light, featuring lingering notes of pear and orchard fruit. Stylistically, it is described as an easy-to-consume, off-dry cider with a syrupy pear element that remains crisp and clean. The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 5.0 per cent.
