NAGOMI Hojicha Powder First Harvest is a finely milled Japanese roasted green tea latte powder offering a gentle, low‑caffeine alternative with warming roasted notes.
Harvested from first-pick leaves and carefully roasted, this 30g (1.06oz) pouch delivers the nutty, caramelized flavor characteristic of hojicha while keeping caffeine low for flexible daytime or evening enjoyment. It’s made from 100% Japanese green tea with no added allergens or fillers, formulated for instant lattes, baking, and creative drinks.
What makes first-harvest hojicha different from other roasted teas?
First-harvest (ichibancha) leaves are picked early in the season and tend to be tender and more aromatically complex. When those leaves are roasted into hojicha, the result is a cleaner, brighter roasted aroma with smooth mouthfeel.
- Picked at the start of the season for delicate leaf quality
- Roasting emphasizes nutty and caramel notes without bitterness
- Finely powdered for quick dispersion in hot or cold liquids
- Lower natural caffeine than many green teas, suitable for later hours
How do I prepare a creamy hojicha latte with this powder?
Making a latte is fast: whisk or shake a teaspoon of powder with a small amount of hot water to dissolve, then add steamed milk or a plant-based alternative. Sweeten if desired and froth for a café-style texture.
- Use about 1–2 teaspoons (adjust to taste) per 8 fl oz of milk
- Dissolve in 1–2 tablespoons hot water before adding milk to prevent clumps
- For iced lattes, dissolve in warm water, then pour over ice and cold milk
- Works well with sweeteners, syrups, or a pinch of salt to enhance roasted notes
Can I cook or bake with NAGOMI Hojicha Powder?
Yes — its powdered form blends smoothly into doughs, creams, and batters, imparting a roasted tea flavor without altering texture. Use it to flavor cookies, panna cotta, ice cream, pancakes, and savory sauces for a subtle umami-roasted accent.
- Add 1–2 teaspoons to baking recipes for a mild tea aroma
- Stir into custards or creams to infuse warm roasted notes
- Mix with dry ingredients evenly to avoid streaking or clumping
- Pairs well with white chocolate, chestnut, sesame, and citrus
How should I store the tea powder to keep it fresh?
Store the sealed pouch in a cool, dry, dark place away from strong odors to preserve aroma and flavor. Once opened, reseal tightly or transfer to an airtight container and use within a few months for best quality.
- Keep away from heat, direct sunlight, and moisture
- Use an airtight jar or resealable pouch after opening
- Small portions can be refrigerated for longer shelf stability if sealed
- Label with open date to track freshness
