The My Father No. 6 Toro Gordo belongs to the cigar that made the García family name deeply personal. The original My Father blend was created by Jaime García as a tribute to his father, José “Pepín” García, whose journey from Cuba to Miami and ultimately Nicaragua built one of the modern cigar industry's most respected families. Handcrafted at the My Father factory in Estelí, the cigar brings together the family's Cuban cigar-making heritage and the Nicaraguan tobacco that became the foundation of its success.
The 6" x 60 box-pressed No. 6 surrounds a substantial core of carefully selected Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers with an oily Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper. In this broad format, the Nicaraguan interior takes on a particularly rich presence, developing layers of cedar, earth and leather alongside espresso, cocoa and roasted nuts. Pepín García's familiar pepper and spice remain part of the equation, but the 60-ring format spreads that intensity across a larger volume of smoke, giving the cigar a rounder, slower-building character than the narrower sizes in the original My Father collection.
What makes the No. 6 interesting isn't simply that it's the biggest cigar in the original numbered series. The Toro Gordo proportions and box press give the blend a distinctly different personality—broad, dense and leisurely, with enough tobacco to showcase the richness of the Nicaraguan core without losing the aromatic contribution of the Habano Rosado wrapper. For the aficionado who appreciates the García family's signature style but prefers it delivered with greater breadth rather than sharper concentration, the No. 6 is a particularly satisfying interpretation of the cigar that bears the family name.
