Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino was created to celebrate the 50th birthday of founder Juan Dobel. Dobel was crafted and named after Juan-Domingo "Dobel" Beckmann, the eleventh-generation leader of Jose Cuervo tequilas.
Maestro Dobel has over 11 generations of heritage in creating silky smooth and flavorful tequila. Unlike the brand's reposado and añejo bottlings, Maestro Dobel 50 is a true extra añejo, rested for a minimum of three years before it is made crystal clear. The organic Blue Weber agave is estate-grown in Jalisco, Mexico. After being distilled twice, the tequila is aged in American and Eastern European oak casks for at least three years. The tequila is then charcoal filtered to remove the color!
One of the rarer Maestro Dobel bottles, it arrived in late 2020 and is billed by the brand as the world's first extra añejo cristalino. The tequila really adds an exclusive and luxurious feel to Maestro Dobel's collection of bottles. The nose brings honey, cooked agave, and dried fruit. The body is silky and sweet, with fig, quince, date, and pineapple. The overall finish is long, with hints of caramel, chocolate, tobacco, and spice.
