Les Foulards Rouges Le Fond de l'Air est Rouge is a natural red wine made from 100% Cinsault, crafted by Jean-François Nicq in the Languedoc region of France. The wine is known for its light and fresh style, achieved through carbonic maceration—a technique that enhances fruitiness and minimizes tannins. Sourced from 80-year-old vines grown on sandy and granitic soils, this wine reflects Nicq's commitment to natural winemaking, using indigenous yeasts and no added sulfites.
With vibrant red fruit flavors, such as wild strawberry and sour cherry, along with subtle floral notes, Le Fond de l'Air est Rouge offers a lively and silky texture. It's a great choice for fans of fresh and easy-drinking wines. It's a perfect match for casual meals, such as pasta, risotto, or soft cheeses. This wine pays tribute to filmmaker Chris Marker's documentary Le Fond de l'Air est Rouge.
