Château Lassègue, with its striking 18th-century château, sun-drenched vineyards, and diverse soils, uniquely honors its heritage while embracing a new era of winemaking tradition. Under the guidance of renowned Vigneron Pierre Seillan and his son Nicolas, Château Lassègue produces extraordinary wines that are crafted to improve over time. This commitment to quality reflects a philosophy that values patience and a long-term dedication to the land. The wines have received impressive accolades, including tasting notes of 93+ points from Wine Advocate. Ripe plums, black cherry liquor, and dried cassis create sumptuous aromas, complemented by hints of orange peel, toasted allspice, fresh cinnamon bark, and dried tea leaf. The velvety mid-palate, driven by Merlot, gradually reveals a multi-layered bouquet of red fruit, toasted baking spices, truffle, and coffee bean. An iron-rich minerality contributes to a taut and complex structure, while fine-grained tannins and firm acidity grip the palate for a long and elegant finish. This classic expression of Saint-Émilion showcases a dual brightness and sophistication that promises to improve over the years.
