Double aging transforms this Tennessee spirit. J.W. Kelly selects mature bourbon aged five to eight years, then finishes it in fresh, heavily toasted American oak barrels. That extra eight to twelve months in new wood extracts massive layers of rich, caramelized sugars. Hand-bottled at a robust 109 proof, it's unfiltered power in a glass. Every single barrel tells its own story.
Heavy barrel char dictates the flavor. High-rye malted grain cuts through the wood tannins, balancing thick honeyed sweetness with vibrant, prickling spice. You'll feel the proof warmth immediately, but the oily mouthfeel prevents any harsh throat burn from taking over the sip. It drinks remarkably smooth for such a high-strength barrel pick. Sip it neat on cool evenings.
