Cigar-making wunderkind AJ Fernandez spent his childhood growing up near the Hoyo de Monterrey factory in Cuba, dreaming of the day he could make his own Hoyo de Monterrey cigars. And that day has finally arrived! Blended by AJ Fernandez, the Hoyo de Monterrey La Amistad Gigante is a rich and deliciously entertaining smoke from a cigar master at the height of his powers!
A hefty 6” x 60 stick, the Hoyo de Monterrey La Amistad Gigante is crafted around a voluptuous blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Nicaragua’s prime growing regions: Esteli, Condega, Jalapa and Ometepe. These leaves are placed inside of a Nicaraguan binder leaf and a tantalizing Ecuadorian Habano wrapper to create one thrilling full-bodied smoke.
Ranking as one of Hoyo de Monterrey’s most full-flavored blends, the Hoyo de Monterrey La Amistad Gigante delivers an impressively bold parade of pepper, earth and spice notes which are touched by splashes of coffee and cocoa on the way to a brilliantly satisfying grand finale.
Literally translating to “friendship,” La Amistad cigars are the perfect for those moments shared with the best of friends after a grand feast and hearty libation. If you are looking to ramp up the sensory pleasures of a lively smoke, then the spicy Hoyo de Monterrey La Amistad Gigante is an hour or so adventure that you do not want to miss!
