This elegant red wine hails from the Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits region in France. Originally known as Domaine Jayer-Gilles, the estate was renamed Domaine Hoffmann Jayer after its acquisition by Swiss enthusiast Jayer Hoffmann in 2017. Under the direction of winemaker Alexandre Vernet, the domaine focuses on a philosophy of meticulous vineyard management and a gravity-fed winemaking process designed to preserve the vibrant energy and mineral precision of their old-vine plantings.
Wine Description
The vintage presents as a brilliant ruby in the glass. On the nose, it offers an aromatic profile of ripe forest fruits, red cherry, and candied strawberry, accented by delicate floral notes, herbs, and a distinctive hint of chalky minerality. The palate is medium bodied and generous, balancing a smooth, ripe structure with high acidity and fine-grained tannins. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir from vines averaging 50 years of age, the wine shows impressive complexity and a long, fresh finish.
