High West Bourbon Barbados Rum Cask Finish is an innovative expression that marries the bold character of straight bourbon with the tropical sweetness of Barbados rum casks. This limited-edition release showcases High West's creative approach to cask finishing, creating a unique whiskey that bridges the worlds of bourbon and Caribbean rum.
After aging as traditional straight bourbon, this whiskey is transferred to carefully selected Barbados rum casks for a finishing period. The rum barrels impart rich notes of molasses, tropical fruit, and brown sugar that beautifully complement the bourbon's natural caramel and vanilla character, resulting in a smooth, exotic whiskey with remarkable depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Caramel, vanilla, and molasses with hints of tropical fruit, brown sugar, and toasted oak
- Palate: Smooth and sweet with notes of butterscotch, banana, rum sweetness, baking spices, and charred oak
- Finish: Medium-length and warming with lingering molasses, tropical fruit, and gentle spice
Perfect for bourbon enthusiasts who appreciate innovative cask finishes and rum lovers exploring whiskey. Enjoy neat to savor the rum influence, or on the rocks. A standout limited release from High West's creative barrel program.
