The E.P. Carrillo Encore El Primero (6.75 x 54 box-pressed) is a bold, elegant extension of one of the most celebrated cigar blends of the modern era. Wrapped in a beautifully aged Nicaraguan Habano Rosado wrapper and filled with 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos, this medium-to-full-bodied cigar delivers rich, layered flavors of cedar, roasted nuts, baking spice, earth, and natural sweetness, all presented with remarkable smoothness. The box-pressed shape enhances draw and burn, creating a refined yet commanding smoking experience.
Encore stands as a milestone for Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, earning Cigar Aficionado’s #1 Cigar of the Year and reaffirming his legacy as one of the industry’s greatest master blenders. Rolled at the acclaimed Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic, Encore reflects Carrillo’s philosophy of balance, complexity, and precision over brute strength. The El Primero vitola was designed to showcase the blend’s depth over a longer, more expressive format.
The box-pressed construction of El Primero promotes a cool, steady burn while delivering thick, aromatic smoke. As the cigar progresses, the profile opens beautifully, transitioning from bright spice and toasted wood into richer notes of cream, earth, and sweet tobacco, with a long, polished finish. Construction is flawless from start to finish, offering an effortless draw and consistent performance throughout the session.
For aficionados who want the full Encore experience with added presence and sophistication, the Encore El Primero delivers in every way—a long, luxurious, award-winning smoke that perfectly captures Ernesto Carrillo’s mastery of flavor, balance, and craftsmanship.
