This straight bourbon whiskey originates from the United States, produced in the Kentucky region. Crafted at Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is a highly anticipated, small-batch release produced three times a year (designated by batches A, B, and C, where "A120" signifies the first batch of January 2020). Adhering to the classic Elijah Craig profile, this bourbon is aged for a minimum of 12 years in oak barrels and bottled straight from the barrel without chill-filtration or dilution, yielding a massive, uncompromised cask strength expression.
Spirit Description
This bourbon presents a deep, dark garnet-mahogany hue in the glass. The nose is bold, punchy, and intensely rich, opening with aromas of dark brown sugar, charred oak, toasted caramel, and vanilla bean, complemented by notes of dried cherries, dark chocolate, and heavy baking spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, thick, and oily, delivering an explosive burst of spicy cinnamon, black pepper, molasses, and roasted nuts, balanced by deep oak tannins, leather, and dark berry sweetness. The finish is exceptionally long, warm, and lingering, leaving a deep trail of charred oak, cocoa, dark sugar, and peppery heat. Bottled at a high cask strength of 68.3% ABV (136.6 Proof), it delivers raw power, dense texture, and exceptional 12-year depth.
