Crafted in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Rémi Jobard Meursault 1er Cru 'Les Charmes' 2023 is a benchmark, world-class Premier Cru white Burgundy produced by master vigneron Rémi Jobard. Widely regarded as one of Meursault’s finest organic producers, Jobard oversees old Chardonnay vines rooted in the upper section (Charmes-Haut) of the legendary Les Charmes Premier Cru vineyard. This coveted site features shallow, Jurassic clay-limestone soils strewn with fractured white chalk, yielding wines that pair Meursault’s hallmark opulence with electric, laser-focused minerality. Farmed according to certified organic practices with biodynamic principles, the 2023 grapes were hand-harvested and subjected to Jobard’s signature gentle, long pneumatic pressing. Unique to the estate, aging takes place in large Austrian oak Stockinger barrels (foudres and demi-muids) for 12 to 18 months, avoiding small barriques to preserve pristine fruit tension, pure limestone expression, and refined textural volume without masking heavy toasted oak.
Food Pairing: Butter-poached lobster tail, pan-seared sea scallops, roast Bresse chicken with wild morchella mushroom sauce, grilled turbot, veal piccata, and artisanal aged cheeses like Comté or Époisses.
