Crafted in Jalisco, Mexico, for Costco Wholesale, Kirkland Signature Añejo Cristalino is a premium 100% Weber Blue Agave spirit offering ultra-smooth character at an accessible price point. Harvested from mature agave piñas, the hearts are cooked in stainless steel autoclaves, crushed using roller mills, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. The spirit is aged in oak barrels for over 12 months to develop deep wood complexity before undergoing a proprietary activated charcoal filtration process. This filtration removes the amber color while retaining the rich vanilla, caramel, and oak undertones of a mature añejo, resulting in a crystal-clear, exceptionally smooth spirit.
Food Pairing: Grilled sea bass, lobster with drawn butter, fresh oyster ceviche, goat cheese crostini, roasted pork tenderloin, or white chocolate truffles.
Tasting Notes: Crystal clear with luminous clarity, a silky medium-to-full body, and slow-moving, elegant legs.
Nose: Clean and expressive, opening with sweet cooked agave, soft vanilla bean, and light toasted oak, accompanied by subtle coconut, white floral notes, and a hint of butterscotch.
Palate: Silky, round, and remarkably smooth on the palate, featuring caramelized agave, vanilla cream, and light oak upfront before unfolding into layers of soft baking spices, subtle tropical fruit, and mild cocoa.
Finish: Medium-long, clean, and velvety with lingering notes of sweet agave nectar, gentle oak spice, and a warm, smooth vanilla finish.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn or Riedel Tequila glass, over a single large ice sphere, or as an ultra-smooth base for high-end cocktails like a Cristalino Paloma or White Tequila Manhattan.
