Domaine Leflaive is renowned for excellence in crafting wines from Chardonnay that express the purest essence of each terroir. Fruit for this wine fruit is sourced from 5 plots owned by Domaine Leflaive in Mâcon-Verzé – Les Chênes, En Perret, Le Monté, Escolles and Les Muses. The vines have been cultivated biodynamically since their purchase in early 2004. The harvest is entirely manual with the grapes being pressed in Verzé in buildings purchased at the same time as the vines. Each day the musts (pressed juice) are transported to the Domaine’s winery in Puligny-Montrachet for fermentation and aging, under the watchful eye of the Domaine Leflaive technical team. Vinification is done in vats, and aging extends from 15 to 16 months. Since this wine is not from their core vineyards in Chassagne, Puligny and Meursault, an ‘s’ is appended to Domaine to differentiate it.
The resulting wine is a one of great purity, both floral and mineral, which releases a lot of energy and liveliness. Enjoy now while waiting for your Domaine wines to mature in your cellar.
Spoil yourself and enjoy with a rich lobster dish or Poulet de Bresse.
