Crafted in the famed Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 'Les Amoureuses' Vieilles Vignes is an extraordinary, legendary red Pinot Noir produced by master vigneron Jean-Marie Fourrier. Widely regarded as the most iconic Premier Cru vineyard in all of Burgundy—routinely rivaling and outperforming neighboring Grand Crus—Les Amoureuses sits on steep, terraced limestone slopes directly beneath Musigny. The ancient Pinot Noir vines grow in thin clay-limestone soils over fissured Bajocian limestone, yielding a wine renowned for its ethereal elegance, intense aromatic floral perfume, and weightless concentration. Jean-Marie Fourrier employs a strict philosophy of minimal intervention, working exclusively with old vines (planted prior to 1940) and low yields. The grapes are 100% destemmed without crushing to preserve pristine whole berries, followed by native yeast fermentation and aging in fine French oak barrels with no more than 20% new oak to avoid masking the raw expression of terroir. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this holy grail cuvée is one of the ultimate trophy wines in global viticulture.
Food Pairing: Serve on its own as a once-in-a-lifetime collector's tasting experience, or pair with roast duck breast with cranberry glaze, pan-seared rack of lamb, roasted pheasant, wild mushroom risotto, coq au vin, and artisanal soft French cheeses like Époisses or Delice de Bourgogne.
