Diesel Uncaged gets back to what made Diesel such a compelling brand in the first place: muscular Nicaraguan tobacco, A.J. Fernandez's unmistakable blending hand, and enough refinement behind the strength to keep experienced smokers interested. Produced by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua for Forged Cigar Company, Uncaged joins the Diesel portfolio as a full-time release rather than another fleeting limited edition. The concept is refreshingly straightforward—build a bold, everyday cigar around quality Nicaraguan leaf, give it the richness Diesel smokers expect, and price it so you'll actually want to keep a box open in the humidor.
The blend is beautifully direct: a richly colored Habano Criollo wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. That all-Nicaraguan core gives Uncaged its backbone, while the Habano Criollo wrapper brings another dimension of spice, texture, and natural sweetness. Expect a robust profile built around leather, dark toast, earth, roasted coffee, pepper, and underlying sweetness, delivered with the dense smoke and authoritative character that have become signatures of A.J. Fernandez's work. It's assertive without becoming unruly—the strength is there, but so is the balance.
Available in Robusto (5½" x 52), Toro (6" x 52), and Gigante (6" x 60), Diesel Uncaged feels less like an experiment and more like a return to fundamentals. There's no barrel-aging story or elaborate blending gimmick here; the attraction is simply Nicaraguan tobacco in the hands of A.J. Fernandez. For the seasoned Diesel smoker, that's really the point. Uncaged delivers the dark, unapologetic character the name promises while retaining enough composure to become exactly what Diesel intended it to be—a serious everyday smoke.
