Château Moulin Saint Georges is a highly regarded estate in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux, France. Owned by the Vauthier family since 1921, the château benefits from the same meticulous attention to detail as its prestigious sibling, Château Ausone. The estate’s 7-hectare vineyard sits on clay-limestone soils with a southwest exposure, ensuring optimal ripening conditions for its Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines. The Vauthiers’ expertise in winemaking results in wines that beautifully express the finesse and complexity of Saint-Émilion’s terroir.
Wine Description
A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 vintage displays a deep garnet-purple hue. The nose is layered with aromas of dark berries, ripe cherries, violets, and a touch of creamy new oak. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, showcasing lush fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a distinctive chalky minerality. The texture is refined, with a structured yet velvety mouthfeel leading to a long, elegant finish. Aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, this wine is crafted for both early enjoyment and long-term aging.
